Welcome to TempContact: Auto Delete ("the App," "we," "our," or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how Runic Labs ("Company," "we," "our," or "us"), located in India, collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards your information when you use our mobile application.

By using TempContact: Auto Delete, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not use the App.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information We DO NOT Collect or Store on Our Servers

2.2 Data Stored Locally on Your Device

TempContact: Auto Delete stores the following information locally on your device only:

• Temporary Contact Database: Contact names, phone numbers, creation timestamps, expiration timestamps, and unique identifiers for contacts YOU create within the app.
• Deletion Logs: Records of deleted temporary contacts (stored locally for your reference).
• App Preferences: Your settings and preferences (e.g., default expiration duration, notification settings).

Important: This data never leaves your device and is not backed up to any cloud service by us. If you uninstall the app, all local data is deleted.

2.3 Analytics and Crash Reporting Data

To improve app performance and user experience, we use third-party services that may collect limited, anonymized data:

Important Notes:

• Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics do NOT collect your contact data, call logs, or any personally identifiable information (PII).
• All data collected by Firebase is anonymized and aggregated.

2.4 Device Permissions

TempContact: Auto Delete requires the following Android permissions to function:

• READ_CONTACTS: To verify if a phone number already exists in your contacts before creating a temporary contact.
• WRITE_CONTACTS: To create and delete temporary contacts in your device's contact database.
• READ_CALL_LOG: To allow you to select unknown numbers from your recent calls when creating temporary contacts.
• POST_NOTIFICATIONS (Android 13+): To send you optional notifications when contacts are about to expire or have been deleted.

How Permissions Are Used:

• Permissions are used ONLY for the app's core functionality (creating and deleting temporary contacts).
• We do NOT access your contacts or call logs for any purpose other than what is described above.
• We do NOT share, sell, or transmit contact or call log data to any third party.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information collected (analytics and crash data) for the following purposes:

• App Functionality: To provide core features like creating and auto-deleting temporary contacts.
• Performance Monitoring: To monitor app performance and identify crashes or errors.
• Bug Fixes: To diagnose and fix technical issues reported by users.
• Feature Improvement: To understand how users interact with the app and improve features.
• Analytics: To analyze aggregated, anonymized usage patterns (e.g., which features are most used).
• User Support: To respond to your inquiries and provide customer support.

4. Data Sharing and Disclosure

4.1 We Do Not Sell Your Data

Runic Labs does NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal information to third parties for monetary or other valuable consideration.

4.2 Third-Party Service Providers

We share limited, anonymized data with the following third-party service providers who assist us in operating the app:

• Google LLC (Firebase Analytics & Crashlytics): For analytics and crash reporting as described in Section 2.3.

These service providers are bound by contractual obligations to keep your information confidential and use it only for the purposes we specify.

4.3 Legal Requirements

We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g., a court order or government agency), including to:

• Comply with legal obligations
• Protect and defend the rights or property of Runic Labs
• Prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the app
• Protect the personal safety of users of the app or the public

4.4 Business Transfers

If Runic Labs is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information (limited to analytics data) may be transferred. We will provide notice before your information is transferred and becomes subject to a different Privacy Policy.

5. Data Security

We take the security of your data seriously and implement industry-standard measures to protect it:

• Local Data Encryption: All data stored locally on your device is protected by Android's built-in security features.
• Secure Transmission: Any data transmitted to Firebase (analytics/crash data) is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.
• Access Controls: Only authorized personnel have access to analytics dashboards.
• Regular Security Audits: We regularly review our security practices to ensure data protection.

However, please note: No method of transmission over the internet or electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

6. Data Retention

• Local Data: Data stored on your device (temporary contacts, deletion logs) is retained until you manually delete it or uninstall the app.
• Analytics Data: Firebase Analytics data is automatically deleted after 14 months. Crashlytics data is retained for 90 days.
• Deletion Logs: Stored locally on your device indefinitely unless you clear them manually or uninstall the app.

7. Your Privacy Rights

7.1 General Rights

You have the following rights regarding your data:

• Access: Request a copy of the data we process about you (limited to anonymized analytics data).
• Deletion: Request deletion of your data. Since we don't collect personal data on our servers, uninstalling the app will delete all local data.
• Opt-Out: You can disable analytics tracking (see Section 7.4).
• Correction: Since we don't store personal data on our servers, you control all data on your device.

7.2 GDPR Rights (European Union Users)

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), you have the following additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR):

• Right to Access: Request confirmation of whether we process your data and obtain a copy.
• Right to Rectification: Request correction of inaccurate data.
• Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): Request deletion of your data.
• Right to Restrict Processing: Request restriction of processing under certain conditions.
• Right to Data Portability: Request transfer of your data to another service.

• Consent: You consent to analytics and crash reporting when you install and use the app.

7.3 CCPA Rights (California Users)

To Opt-Out of Analytics:

Currently, there is no in-app toggle to disable analytics. However, you can:

• Use Android's system-wide ad tracking settings to limit data collection.
• Contact us to request manual opt-out from future data collection.
• (Future Update: We plan to add an in-app analytics toggle in version 1.1)

8. Children's Privacy

TempContact: Auto Delete does not have a specific age restriction and may be used by individuals of all ages. However, we are committed to protecting the privacy of children.

• We do NOT knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 years of age without parental consent.
• The app does not require or request age information from users.
• If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected personal information from a child under 13 without parental consent, we will take steps to delete such information immediately.

Parents/Guardians: If you believe your child has provided personal information through the app, please contact us at hello.runiclabs@gmail.com, and we will promptly investigate and delete any such data.

9. International Data Transfers

Runic Labs is based in India. If you access the app from outside India, please be aware that your information (limited to anonymized analytics data) may be transferred to, stored, and processed in:

• India: Where Runic Labs operates.
• United States: Where Firebase (Google LLC) servers are located.
• Other countries: Where Google operates data centers globally.

Data Transfer Safeguards:

• Firebase complies with EU-U.S. and Swiss-U.S. Privacy Shield frameworks (or successor mechanisms).
• Google has implemented Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) for GDPR compliance.
• All data transfers are secured using encryption (HTTPS/TLS).

10. Third-Party Links and Services

TempContact: Auto Delete does not contain links to third-party websites or services. However, the app integrates with:

• Android System Contacts: Your device's native contact storage (controlled by Android OS).
• Firebase Services: Google's analytics and crash reporting platform.

11. India-Specific Privacy Compliance

As a company based in India, Runic Labs complies with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDPA) and other applicable Indian data protection laws.

11.1 Data Fiduciary

Runic Labs acts as a "Data Fiduciary" under DPDPA for the limited analytics data processed through Firebase.

11.2 User Rights Under DPDPA

Indian users have the right to:

• Access their personal data
• Correction of inaccurate data
• Erasure of personal data
• Nominate another person to exercise rights in case of death or incapacity

11.3 Data Processing Notice

Under DPDPA, we provide the following notice:

• Purpose of Processing: App functionality, analytics, crash reporting, and performance monitoring.
• Legal Basis: Your consent (provided when installing and using the app).
• Data Retention: As specified in Section 6.
• Right to Withdraw Consent: You may withdraw consent by uninstalling the app or contacting us.

12. In-App Purchases and Payment Information

TempContact: Auto Delete offers a free version and a paid "Pro" version with additional features.

12.1 Payment Processing

• Payment Processor: All payments are processed by Google Play Store.
• We Do NOT Collect Payment Information: Runic Labs does NOT collect, store, or process credit card numbers, billing addresses, or other payment details.
• All payment information is handled securely by Google Play's payment system.

12.2 Purchase Data

We may receive limited information about your purchase from Google Play, such as:

• Purchase confirmation (to unlock Pro features)
• Transaction ID (for support purposes)
• Purchase date

This information is used solely to verify your purchase and enable Pro features. We do NOT receive your payment card details.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, legal requirements, or app features. When we make changes:

• We will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy.
• Significant changes will be notified through the app (via notification or in-app message).
• Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. The most current version will always be available at this URL.

14. Data Breach Notification

In the unlikely event of a data breach involving your personal information:

• We will notify affected users within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach (as required by GDPR).
• Notification will be sent via in-app message or email (if available).
• We will provide details about the nature of the breach, data affected, and steps we are taking to address it.

Note: Given that we do not collect or store personal data on our servers (only anonymized analytics), the risk of a data breach affecting your personal information is minimal.
